Palliative Medicine: What is it Really? Concepts and Misconceptions
Kathryn Borgenicht, M.D., is a board certified geriatrician and has working in palliative care for more that 30 years. She is currently Medical Director of Eden Hospice. She helped start the Palliative Consultants at Bozeman Health. She has taught in many settings. She has a special interest in dementia care, health in aging, and discussing what matters to patients and families when they have serious illnesses. She lives in Bozeman with too many animals. Her children live elsewhere but visit often.

Diagnosis and Management of Commonly Seen Infections in the Outpatient Setting
Jessika Hinz, D.O., is an infectious disease physician in Bozeman. She joined Bozeman Health in the summer of 2021, and is very excited to be back. Originally from Montana, she completed her BS at Montana State in microbiology in 2005. I then attended osteopathic medical school in Kansas City, Missouri, and completed her internal medicine residency, and later her ID fellowship, in Portland, Maine. Her and her husband then moved to Chicago, where she joined a large private practice group. Dr. Hinz worked in Chicago for 6 years, gaining invaluable clinical experience, and then moved back home to Montana in 2021. She loves being back home with their 4-year-old son, 2 crazy dogs, and many family members just a short drive away!
1.0 CE CreditDr. Hinz will discuss when it is appropriate to send and how to interpret urinalysis and urine cultures and MCC values and what first-line antibiotic options are for purulent and non-purulent cellulitis.

Update from NCCPA: Focus on PANRE Alternative
Alicia Quella is the Director of PA Relations at the NCCPA. She has served as a PA educator and has practiced in emergency medicine and primary care. She has served as an epidemiologist during the COVID-19 pandemic and has published research on the PA workforce, global health and issues affecting diversity in PA program admissions. Alicia earned her Masters of PA Studies degree and her doctoral degree in epidemiology from the University of Iowa.
1.0 CE CreditNCCPA will provide detailed information on the recertification exams, the PANRE-LA and the traditional PANRE exam. We will also provide a brief review the CAQ program and the 3 new CAQs available for Certified PAs. In addition, we will describe the various ways PAs contribute to the work of NCCPA, how we communicate with PAs and the public and other resources available to PAs.

The Psychological Treatment of Chronic Pain: What You Should Know
Megan Hunsaker, Ph.D. is a licensed Psychologist who specializes in working with chronic pain, chronic illness, insomnia, and anxiety. I work from a cognitive behavioral background and have specialized training in cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia and chronic pain. She believes in working collaboratively with clients and tailoring interventions to best fit the clients needs and personal goals.
1.0 CE CreditDr. Hunsaker will describe psychology's role and evidence-based therapies for the psychological treatment of pain and provide short interventions that any staff member can provide.

MSK Ultrasound: Basics and Injection Guidance
Kelsey Hoffman, D.O., is a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. I completed my medical school training at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2015. I came to Montana for residency, completing my three year family medicine training in Billings with the Montana Family Medicine Residency. I then completed a year of primary care sports medicine fellowship with the same program in 2019. I often ultrasound for diagnosis as well as guidance of musculoskeletal procedures. I have extensive experience with musculoskeletal injections, such as intra-articular injections of the hip, knee and shoulder as well as carpal tunnel and trigger finger injections. In addition to this, I use my osteopathic training to offer manipulations as another treatment option for my patients. My current role has me in a primary care clinic, covering St. Peter's Orthopedic urgent care a few days a month, allowing me to maintain my orthopedic training with plans to transition fully to orthopedics in 2024.

Negative Pressure Wound Therapy in 2023
Michale T. Gallagher, M.D., is an Anaconda native and a graduate of Anaconda High School where he was a multi-sport athlete and scholar. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Carroll College in 1986 and went to medical school at the University Of Chicago Pritzker School Of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic training at the University of Missouri in Kansas City in 1995. Dr. Gallagher completed an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia in 1996 and is one of few fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeons in Montana.
1.0 CE CreditDr. Gallagher will present and provide practical applications of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) as well as show case discussions and results of NPWT.

First-line Antidepressants in Primary Care
Stacey Pascoe, PharmD, obtained her bachelor’s degree at Montana State University in Civil Engineering. After practicing as an engineer for four years, she attended pharmacy school at the University of Montana, where she completed her PharmD. Following pharmacy school she began work at the Montana State Hospital, where she was employed for 5 years and gained the experience required to become Board Certified in Psychiatric Pharmacy (BCPP). Dr. Pascoe is licensed as a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner (CPP) and currently works at Bozeman Health in the Behavioral Health and Geriatric Departments as a clinical pharmacist.
1.0 CE CreditDr. Pascoe will discuss the effect and adverse reactions of common psychotropic medications.
